Absorption Fridge Question

Last summer I got a new ,to me, Travel Trailer. The year before I had just installed a new cooling unit in the absorption fridge of my last travel trailer. The price I got for the old trailer would have been the same with or without the absorption fridge. So I remove the fridge from the old travel trailer and carried it down my into basement. My question is:

Do I need to plug the fridge in once an awhile and let it cool down or will it stay in storage , unused, for a long time (possibly years) without doing any damage to it ??

Have a nice Day

Caveman need Mancave. Plug it in and load it with adult beverages. Others may disagree, but if you want to have it work after years of storage, I'd let it run every now and then.

It NEEDS to be installed in a cabinet so airflow/draft can occur

An absorption fridge will overheat and die if ran out in the open

If not going to install it.......leave it OFF
There are no moving parts and the coolant solution is under pressure/not exposed

Thank You. I though maybe it would be OK just setting there. The information about the cabinet is good to know.

It needs a 120VAC supply to run the heater circuit, but also needs a 12VDC supply to run the electronics...

Norcold 6053...I would need 12 volts for the circuit board too. I remember that I put a Dinosaur Board on it about 10 years ago.

Installation & Operating Manual if you want to build an encloser box to house that fridge and run it

https://myrvworks.com/wp-content/upl...structions.pdf

Otherwise I would post a For Sale Ad (Here, FB Marketplace, Craig's List Etc.) vs just storing it
It's an OLD Model and just not worth storing for the 'future'
