I'd start by visually checking the start capacitor. Go on the roof and remove the cover. The starting capacitor should have a flat top that the wire connectors attach to. If it is domed, the capacitor is bad. CAUTION: a capacitor stores a large charge and must be discharged (shorted across the connections) before touching it.

Visually checking the capacitors is always a good idea. But I would never discharge a capacitor with a screw driver. I recommend using a bleed resister. Both start and run capacitors store large amounts of energy. Think of them as a battery. Would you intentionally short out a battery with a screwdriver. Next I would use a digital multi meter and measure and check the microfarads (μF) before purchasing a new capacitor. The is a +\- percentage labelled on each capacitor. You tube is a great tool if the people giving the advice are doing so safely and professionally.
And... it also looks like he has replaced a start capacitor with a run capacitor!!! ?

You have a short suspect list
#1 is the start capacitor (See the above response he covered it in detail)
#2 is the blower motor
#3 is a defective relay or switch (Very very rare).

I got lucky with same problem. After a month or two of not being used fan would not start but compressor would. Gave fan a quick spin with finger and it started - problem has not returned - and that was 5-6 months ago.

Replaced fan start capacitor. No luck. Also spun fan blade while compressor was running. No luck there either. Fan motor is next step but will wait until I get the RV back in storage so I am not working in the sun.

Just checked and discovered fan was running and not compressor.
Turned off all power and turned back on and now all working normally.
Happy but confused.

Fan was not working again this morning. Is it possible for a bad motor to still work intermittently?

Have you tried running the fan only using the mode selector switch?
If these motors lose lube on the end bearings they can have trouble starting, as these do not have start caps, only run caps.
