I was looking over a diesel pusher on Saturday and when I got to the battery bay one pull out tray had 2 chassis batteries but the other tray had one large[filled the entire tray]Lifeline AGM battery. I thought that house batteries were in groups of 4 for most applications. Is there an advantage in having one huge 12 volt AGM battery? Owners rep didn't have a clue.

What you are looking for is a source of "12" volts with a certain number of available usable amphours. It can be in a bank of batteries or in a single case. AGM type betteries have thir own advantages over lead acid cells. Here are some links about batteries if you want to do your homework and learn about them.

You are probably looking at a size 8D battery.

One large battery has less external wiring and therefore less chance of a weak or corroded connection. The downside is that it is awful heavy if you have to move it or replace it. You can get good or cheap batteries in either type.

The number of actual battery cells will be the same either way. Nearly all batteries are constructed by connecting standard 2.1v cells together in series (or series/parallel for the 8D type) to get the desired voltage and capacity.
