Air conditioner Tripping Breaker
Our 2013 Storm Air conditioner keeps tripping the breaker. I have had it in the shop and they said that the breaker was bad, so they replaced it. after getting it back home it ran fine for a few days. Now it is tripping the breaker again. It may run for 30 min. or 3 hours before tripping again after resetting the breaker. Anyone have any ideas as to the real problem? Putting it back in the shop tomorrow. Too hot to try and camp without AC.
Thanks in advance.

Get a voltmeter and measure voltages first.
Simple thing is the devices are "power based".
This means they consume a faily constant power level which is measured in Watts.
Watts is voltage times amps.
If voltage drops amps goes up.
Remove panel to where breakers are and measure voltage at breakers.
Turn on ac and repeat.
If voltage drops then work your way to the source.
Bad shore cord or connection can cause this.

If voltage is lower than 120 v norm, more amps will be needed to start and run A/C. Check voltage at any outlet to check. But it could be the A/C starting circuits are bad and drawing too many amps. This can also happen if A/C tries to start too soon after it shuts down. Immediately after compressor goes off, pressures are very high and compressor must use more energy to restart. A built in delay is meant to stop this overload. Your issue sounds like a failing A/C control board or starting capacitor. If the circuit breaker has been replaced, next step is check out the A/C. I hope you're still under warranty!

Once a breaker trips especially several times they get hot and will trip easier each time

how many amps is your unit? 30 or 50. How many air conditioner units? if 30 amp and 2 units, you can only run one at a time.

Can be anything from low voltage and brownouts from the power company to a bad outlet in your home to failing start capacitors in the AC unit or any combination as running the AC on low voltage or while plugged into a bad outlet can also cause the breaker and start capacitors in the RV to fail.

I saw this thread right after I read yours, just info.
Does your air work okay when on generator power? If it does then your problem might likely be in your cord or transfer connections.

MH has 30 amp service and only one AC. It trips the breaker on shore power or generator. Shed all loads AC only thing running, still trips the breaker. This is the first Coleman AC I have had on any RV, and it will probably be the LAST.

If you're sure that the refrigerator isn't on AC, or the water heater, the air conditioner shouldn't be pulling anything close to 30 amps. Your converter/charger is also probably on, but it isn't using that kind of power either. While under warranty you should have the air conditioner checked and replaced if needed.
Very unlikely that the bad circuit breaker was replaced by another bad one. Just for more facts when taking it in, you might wish to plug in a Kill a watt and monitor voltage when the circuit breaker is acting up.

Check the voltage at the breaker before doing anything else.
You are watering the wind until you know whar is going on
