AirXcel Bluetooth Thermostat....anyone?

AirXcel has a bluetooth t-stat that they claim you can monitor and change your AC/Heat settings using a Smartphone app. I am curious if anyone has any experience with these?

Also, I will assume for it to work, the t-stat would need access to the internet via wifi.

Seems kind of pointless. It's not like you need to change the temp settings constantly.

In our case, our new 5th wheel is now on a permanent site in Myrtle Beach, SC 6 hrs driving time from our home in Virginia. I would like to be able to monitor temps from home and be able to turn the AC down 3 -4 hours before we arrive for a stay.

I did talk to someone at AirXcel and they said their bluetooth t-stat is only good for a short distance. For example, you could maybe leave your campsite and be nearby in the RV park and still adjust the temp. In this case I agree with you.....it is pointless. Not sure what they were thinking with this.

Now if they will come up with a WiFi based thermostat I would be interested.

I asked that question and was told they had talked about it but no decision yet.

I also asked if the Honeywell wifi T-stat like I have in my stick house could be adapted. He said yes if I bought one of their 24 volt gizmo's. I may look into that.
