Aqua Hot
Just took new to us 2011 42QD for a 150 mile spin and enjoyed every minute of it. Getting really comfortable with the added length and height as well as the weight.
After returning home I noticed that the AH fluid was at the HOT level on the fill tank. When I left it was at the Cold mark. I was sure it was off so I went inside to verify it was off and the engine preheat switch was off.
The manual indicates that some DPs have the ability to use the engine heat to heat the water supply by heating the AH coolant but I couldn't find anything specific on my DP.
I'm glad for the hot water and not having to run the AH but was wondering if anyone else has a DP that heats the water while you are driving without the AH being turned on or do I potentially have a problem that needs to be looked at?
Thanks in advance - Richard

Ours heats the water while driving. Upon arrival we have hot water, actually very hot water. In cold weather heats the entire coach nicely while driving.

Yes, heats boiler fluid while you drive. No need to turn any switches on AH panel !

Thanks everyone. It takes a little time to get used to the changes but AH was on my 'must have' list as we live in Illinois and plan on numerous trips South during the cold season. DW doesn't like to be gone too long at a time. AH worked great during Feb/Mar after delivery as we weren't able to head out as originally planned.
Spk64 - Do the zone exchangers work even when the AH diesel or electric switches are in the off position? My AH kept the DP at 70 inside and 50 in the bays when used in Feb/Mar as it sat next to the S&B - will it do the same driving down the road with the switches off?
thanks again everyone - Richard

I do not think they need to be on. Just switch thermostat to furnace or what ever mode uses the AH heat.

Spk64, You are exactly right!!!!!
As DW and I were on our way to lunch I was telling her about your post and my question back when it hit me like a ton of bricks - Thermostat on, temp set and drive on. If cold, cold, cold - run AH to temp and engine then shut off AH while driving. I'm learning - Thanks - Richard
