Aqua hot problems

Burner runs clean on first start up but on the next cycle when the blower comes on I get diesel fog until the burner lights and then it clears up. I’ve change the filter and nozzle adjusted the electrodes cleaned the swirler and combustion chamber but that didn’t solve the problem. If I cycle the burner on manually every three or four minutes it burns clean and no fog. This is a model AHE450DE4. Anyone else have this problem and solve it. Thanks for any input

Quick question, do you have any led lights on the display panel for the Aqua hot that does not look normal?

From your service manual:

If The Heater Smokes on Start up/Shut down.
a. Fuel solenoid
- plunger worn out
- plastic/metal in the way of plunger
- fuel solenoid intermittent.
b. Nozzle Tower
- cracked
- poorly machined
c. Short cycling
- control t-stat bad
- someone turned heater off/on repeatedly
d. Return Fuel Check Valve

- heaters manufactured before 2001

2. If The Heater Smokes During The Burn Cycle.
a. Electrodes out of adjustment
b. Air in the fuel system
c. Bad nozzle
d. Fuel pressure
e. Fuel Pump
f. Intermittent Ignition Coil
- If the coil doesn’t turn on, the fuel sprays for 20 seconds, before the photo eye shuts the fuel off.

All panel lights are green. I’m going to take to burner out again tomorrow and look for any cracks or places where fuel could be leaking. Thanks for the reply

The service manual is available on line... I would go through that. Focus on the flame sensor confirm it is aligned and clean. Also make sure your electrode gap is as specified... these two items could cause ignition issues.

How long are we running it?

Might just need to Run it for a few Hours to work it out,
