Atwood Levelegs, basic operations for DUMMIES. Please!
I have owned this '07 KSDP with Atwood levelegs for about a year. All of my previous experience has been with HWH. I have been having an intermittent, reoccurring problem with the passenger front jack not retracting. Many times it will not retract, but every time I have finally been able to get it to retract. However, it may take 5 minutes or 20 minutes. And me, I look like a grandkid playing grandma's piano, banging on the keys. I recently took it in to get it repaired/replaced. They have told me, "they can't get it to fail", so insurance isn't going to cover it.
Today, I printed out Atwood literature 66166, and have read it several times. The conclusion, is maybe this dummy pounding on the buttons is the problem. I would request your help and comments regarding the simplest of procedures and processes of normal everyday operations.
For one thing, I am pretty sure that I have screwed up the "AUTO POSITION". I thought that meant let the system automatically level the coach. Reading the instructions, it appears to mean, you must program it for a specific location. And it will not work correctly for just any random location with varying angles or heights. I read HOW to program it.......how do I reset it to null, and get it back to factory neutral?
Second: Since AUTO doesn't work like I thought, please help me understand what I need to do to level the coach with bags dumped, when I pull into,a new location. 1) Tranny N 2)Brake set 3) Engine running & slides in. 4) Touch ON 5) ALL and EXT simultaneously ?? Will this level the coach to the current conditions? So what are the individual buttons FRONT- PASSENGER- DRIVER- REAR buttons for?
Third: If I need to level the coach myself, what is the sequence? My HWH system said "sides first....front back last". Atwood doesn't say.
Fourth: How do I get it to just dump air, and not deploy the jacks?
In advance, thanks to all who respond, I appreciate you comments and time!
