Atwood Oven

We have a standard Atwood oven, Wedgewood Vision series. It does not seem to cook very well, at least not as well as the ovens in previous rigs. An example: it took twice as long to cook a turkey breast as it should have. Is there a fix or is it just a lousy appliance?

Some people put something like a brick in them to help distribute the heat. Don’t know from experience never turn my on we use convention.

12" Unglazed Terra Cotta Tile.....cheaper then a 'Pizza Stone' and does the same thing, distribute the heat more evenly
And when they crack easy to replace.......big box store Home Depot/Lowes/Menards

As for the oven temps.....
Have you used a oven thermometer and checked oven temp vs oven knob setting?
ie: 350*F on knob can be 325*F

Pull knob off and some have adjustment screw in center of shaft.
Actual Model number would help

Also LP System Pressure REALLY matters.
System should be 11"WC.......Oven has it's own reg which should be set for 10"WC
Low propane pressure.....colder flame.....less temp

I have had three Atwood ovens over the past few years. My current one is the only one where 350 is 350 on the dial. The other ones were low by 25 - 30 degs. Get an oven thermometer and check yours. Also a pizza stone helps to distribute heat and eliminate hot spots.

Cannot light the pilot light on my Atwood oven because the control knob will not turn, even when depressed. Any suggestions to overcome this situation?

This in on-par for you, great advice!
One of our ovens did not have a temp adjust screw, so I made a small sign which said " set temp 30° higher than normal baking temp" and glued it to front of oven door.
