Atwood Water Heater GE-9 EXT

Hello: I have no power to the water heater. It was working fine until I was having issues with my inverter that was causing my AC (120) to shut off and on a dozen times. Maybe shorted out something. I already reset all my breaker and checked all the fuses at the panel. I don’t have power on the 2amp fuse on the water heater control module. Also the propane doesn’t work either. I read it could be the relay.

How do I trouble shoot this issue? Your help is appreciated. Thanks!!

I owned a diesel Bounder for 32 years, and learned that Fleetwood did not always document their fuse locations. Look in the battery compartment and see if there is a power center located to the coach side of that, if so there will be fuses located within that unit. Then there is the house power center in the cabinet inside the coach. Sometimes the wires work loose from the screw or clip terminals in the back of that panel.
Most inverter/chargers also have a fuse or breaker panel inside the front access to one side or another.

That Atwood uses 12VDC to Gas & Electric On/Off Switches

When you turn on GAS ---12VDC is sent to circuit board via Orange wire
When you turn on ELECTRIC -----12VDC is sent to circuit board via White wire

12VDC to the switches is from a FUSED source.

A 1996 Bounder would not have his model OEM (not available until 2004) so OEM was swapped for this GE9-EXT model

This is correct. I do have VDC at the switches for ELECTRIC and GAS the green lights come on and it stop there. I guess I’m not getting AC (120). Is that a bad relay?

Atwood GE9-EXT uses 12VDC to control the Gas & Electric Functions
Common 12VDC, Common Set of t-stats, common circuit board (separate DC circuits on board)

120VAC is triggered by 12VDC Relay provided the DC Circuits work

Gas......orange wire.....brown wire/thermal fuse/t-stat/circuit board/red wire/gas valve
Electric...white wire.....brown wire/thermal fuse/t-stat/circuit board...yellow wire/relay---120VAC to element
