Atwood water heater help please.

I narrowed down the problem with my water heater(model #gc6a-7e) to the ignition circuit board. However, the manual gives 2 different part numbers (91504 & 93865) and I'm not sure which one I need. Or if I would be better off replacing the entire water heater, as the water heater is original to my '94 dutchman. I live in my rv full-time. Any help will be much appreciated.

New combination Atwood units same as yours complete are between $350-$450 (average). Control board itself is most likely around $200.00. Once you have to replace any other components, which are common such as the gas valve, electric heating element for 120 volt operation, ECO/thermostat or T&P valve individually the prices would far exceed the cost of a new unit.

If it were me, since the price of the board alone is 1/2 the cost of a new one, I'd replace the entire unit with a new one. Labor to do so if you can't do it yourself should be approx 1 hr.

If you are sure, it's your igniter board, Google "Dinasaur Boards" and select American RV Parts & Supplies. Email them the S/N, of your heater and they can match you up with a new board. Could only cost $85.00, MOL. I just did that for my Atwood Furnace and that's what I paid, for a new board. Shipping is about $8 or $9 more. The water heaters and furnaces are very similar. Of course, I'm taking a chance, that all my problems lie with the igniter board. However, by the way it looks, I'm pretty sure it's bad.
