Aux Battery reading

When I am connected to 'shore power' and I check the Aux Battery for current status I get a 'marquee' across the various status indicators ie empty, 1/4, 1/2. 3/4, full and it keeps flashing across the monitor. Is this normal???

When I am disconnected and check the status it indicates full.

This is a new coach as well as a new M/H owner I was wondering if the Aux Battery check cannot be done when you are connected to the 'shore'.

You can read the house (aux) battery while connected, but it will be reading the charge voltage from your converter or inverter/charger. That voltage only tells you if the battery is being charged, not the state of the battery.

Seb, please post your make/model/year or place it in your signature line so it always shows what setup you have.

Unplug from shore power and use your generator power - do you get the same behavior from the status indicator panel?

What you describe can sometimes be attributed to a failing 12volt converter - in some cases, when they are on their way out, they pass AC voltage to the DC side which can create havoc with 12volt devices in the coach. I run across this from time to time and in many cases the first indication seems to always be with erratic monitor/status panel indicator displays. The converter is only energized when you are plugged into shore or by running your coach from the generator.

If you have a digital volt/ohm meter you can set it to the AC scale and probe just about any DC circuit. If you show more than 1 volt AC then you have found your problem.
