Others may not have seen your pics of the compartment and the close proximity of the disconnect solenoids to your working area. Unless you also have mechanical disconnects back at the batteries i would still go with tape/baggies and remove the negative cables.

Can't be to careful for sure....x10 for me.

Ended up ordering Trombetta solenoid from Murcal rather than Amazon (cheaper and same company Amazon was using) and I have already got appreciation for business reply as well as confirmation of shipping. I like good customer service, in fact I will add this note that I posted on another thread pertaining to ALS/Echo charger.

"Here is another factor I have found in my decision, customer service. I e-mail customer service at both Xantrex (Thursday the 19th) and LSL (Sat the 21st). Xantrex forward the message to Schneider who responded that they would answer later. LSL relyed with a very kind, professional answer on the same week-end day and I am still waiting on Schneider. This says a lot to me, besides LSL is in home state of Texas, cheaper, and I am predicting as good or better product. Choice for Amp-L-Start has suddenly become very easy."

Usually one of the deciding factors for me (Amazon vs. "other") is shipping cost and sales tax. Another factor is whether the product is one I would rather not have shipped (a TV for instance).

So right....that price that looks to be bargain might have a drastic change when you read the small print giving shipping charges. Amazon usually treats me good, but this item just turned aut better from the source, which was Amazon's source also. I also gave thought of possible return for whatever reason or questions, this way I could go directly to company that sales Trombetta. IMO Amazon seems very good on shipping IF all products are in THEIR stock.
