Awning Motor

I have an A&E One Step Patio awning. Motor has lost its mojo. Motor not available any more and wondering if a A&E 9100 motor would fit the awning tube?

Are most Patio Awning Tubes the same size? Or not?

Thank you for any info.,

I have the same problem. May I suggest you try removing the old motor before you purchase a new one. I am fairly handy with tools and I have done everything I know to remove the motor from the tube and so far I have had no luck.

Hope you have a working awning soon.

Power awning inoperable

Perhaps it is NOT the motor but something else causing motor not to work. I have replaced motor and still have same issue. I would recommend disconnecting plug at motor and connecting 12vdc to motor to see if it still is inop. I used a Battery Tender battery charger with a long extension cord. It is same connection as my motor connection. I am still trying to figure mine out. For some reason I have the voltage needed at least 12vdc (mine is 13,7vdc) but not the umpff amps. When I plugged motor into charger it works

NOKAOIKEN: YOU were able to remove the motor ? With or without the gear drive?
ALSO what was your final solution? Thanks

Awning motor

I removed awning motor and replaced with new one and it still did not work. I took voltage measurement at motor and had required 13+vdc. I used another 12vdc supply and motor worked. Other threads spoke of: You can have the voltage but need the amperage as well. So that is obviously my issue: Amperage
