Backup Cam Wiring

I have a 1970s Dodge Coachmen Leprechaun and I’m trying to wire up a Haloview MC7 108 but am having a hard time finding a power source for the rear camera. Most people I’ve seen wire it to a light, which I did, but the the camera only turns on when the head lights and rear lights are on. Any suggestions?

Well you are correct. You would only have power when that light is turned on.

Do you have a 7 pin trailer plug on your coach? 1 wire should be hot anytime the ignition is on. You would have to drop a wire all the way down, or poke something up from the bottom to pull a wire down with.

This works for a lot of us because we always drive with our lights turned on.

Shouldn't have to have headlights on, just need the clearance lights.
