Battery Charge Monitor

I am looking to install a battery charge monitor in out motorhome. I am doing a lithium upgrade and want to keep an eye on the charge levels of the batteries. The batteries will be located in the rear of our Class C on the floor of a closet adjacent to the converter. I am running battery cables from the stepwell where the current battery, battery disconnect and other 12V power equipment is located. The cable length front to back is about 26'.

I also want a battery charge monitor to keep an eye on the charge levels. Out control center is located at the on the cabinet wall just above the stepwell where all of the wires will connect. The battery charge monitor requires a shunt in the negative side of the batteries. Since the battery negative will connect with the coach negative in the step well and the proximity of the control center. I was thinking of installing the shunt in the stepwell and the monitor in the cabinet wall at the control center. Does the distance from the battery (26') cause any issues with the charge monitor?

Yes. That's a 50' round trip for the cables and the voltage drop at even tepid currents will affect the monitor. Seems if you're running battery cables anyway another signal cable for the monitor wouldn't be any extra trouble.
