Battery Temperature Sensor

On my 12volt negative ground battery system, does the battery sensor wire from the inverter get attached to a + or - battery terminal and does it matter which battery in the parallel set (4) does it gets connected?

Thank you.

The instructions that came with my magnum inverter say attach the battery temperature sensor to the same negative battery terminal that has the cable going to the inverter.

It doesn’t matter. It’s there to sense the temperature not conduct electricity from the batteries.

I placed mine on the terminal closest to the center of the batteries.

Place it near the center of the pack where the temperature is the warmest. The temperature sensor is used to reduce the charging voltage when the battery pack warms up to prevent overcharging. There is no electrical connection from it to the batteries.
