What type of "Pukkie" can be used to seal an ABS line into a polyethelene pipe stub coming out of my black tank? The fitting has pulled out and I need to re-install it using some kind of sealant with a worm clamp to secure. The old stuff resembles plumber's putty, gray in color, but is more of the consistency of silicone or an elastomeric caulk. Plumber's putty isn't plastic enough to squeeze between the fittings (male into female fitting). Who's got the answer?

And does anyone want to help with this fun project?

I have seen butyl and poly butyl used in these applications. Try to have mating surfaces clean and dry when re-fitting them back together.

Good idea, Wiz. I see HD carries a Dap brand gutter sealant which may do the trick. Hope it stays elastic enough to continue to seal with the inevitable movement of the fittings.
