Blizzard NXT vs. Penguin II

I'm considering replacing my currently installed Carrier Air V 13,500 btu heat pumps with either Dometic Blizzard NXT or Penguin II heat pumps.

From my research, so far, it appears that the Blizzard NXT 15,000 btu heat pump and the Penguin II High Capacity heat pump have very similar specs.

According to the product info for each, other than the height difference (Blizzard NXT is 3.5" taller than the low profile Penguin II) the Blizzard appears to produce a higher air flow rate (350CFM vs. 310CFM)

People generally seem to be satisfied with their Penguin II units. I understand that the Blizzard NXT is a newer design. Since newer isn't always synonymous with better, I welcome personal observations from those of you who have the Blizzard installed.

Thanks in advance.

Take care,

Blizzard NXT vs. Penguin II

From my research, the Blizzard NXT HP will not be available for retail sales until some time this fall.

We have a thread on the Newmar forum discussing this subject but I don't know how to link on my iPhone.

it's here ... some of this is Newmar specific due to the mounting arrangement used by Newmar.

If height is not an issue, you may want to add Brisk Air II w/heatpump to your possibilities.
