Can I use the antifreeze inlet on pump to pump fresh water?

Just had a thought: I have a convenient hose running into my basement that I can use to winterize (antifreeze inlet to pump). I switch a valve and the pump sucks from this antifreeze hose and not the fresh tank. I was thinking that I could use that and make it a little longer and just stick it in my 6 gallon water jug if we run out of fresh water. Is it really that simple?

Thanks, Corn

Yes , and turning the fill valve will run the water, from the pump, into your fresh tank .

A note of caution , if adding to your fresh tank when you have no services ( sewer dump ) black and grey tanks on your RV are sized to handle the approx capacity of your fresh tank , adding more fresh without dumping tanks could lead to a messy situation.
