Car/Truck Battery Jump Starter, 12V Battery Booster Pack
Does anybody have a "Car Battery Jump Starter, 12V Battery Booster Pack, Jump Box, Portable Charger and Jumper Cables for 8.0L Gasoline and 6.0L Diesel Engines"?
Here is a link to what I am talking about :
Car Battery Jump Starter
"Start Dead Batteries - Safely jump start a dead battery in seconds with this compact, yet powerful, 2000-amp lithium battery jump starter - up to 40 jump starts on a single charge - and rated for gasoline engines up to 8.0-liters and diesel engines up to 6.0-liters."
How could this thing possible work?
Has anybody used one of these things?
Thanks for reading

They actually work very well, used properly. They are designed to provide some boost. They usually will not start a vehicle if the battery is stone dead or defective. For the normal the battery just got to low they are good. The trick is to connect, turn them on and wait for some power to get into the battery. Then, these things can deliver a short burst, the short cables are part of the key.

I have this one:
https://a.co/d/5YQMVC7
I've only had to use it once, just recently, and it worked like a charm. Instant startup of my wife's Ford Fiesta with totally dead battery.
My son has some other brand that he's used a few times and had told me that they work great, as long as you have it with you when needed.

I have that exact same model NoCo and it works quite well. It's been used to jump start a diesel box truck as well as a few gas vehicles.

I have a cheaper version of that, gooloo, for 2-3 years, and they work amazingly. It will easily start a typical v6 or v8 gas engine with NO battery at all, and do that a dozen times without dropping a single bar in charge. It will not start a big or cold diesel on it's own, but it will help. It should easily start a generator on it's own, and then help start a big engine.
They last better if you use them a bit after charging so they're not stored fully charged, and don't use to jump after they're below 50% charge. I like to store indoors but don't know if that helps them live longer, or just gives a little more power.

This is the one I have and it works on everything from my lawn tractor to the MG to our 8.9 ISL. Would recommend.

I keep one on my cruiser. Not the same as asked about. Had it for some 15 yrs. I think mine is a 800CCA Jump and Carry. So far its started every car, boat or truck it's been used for. Odd thing is, I've never needed it myself, I carry it for everyone else it appears.

Hello Dennis, I'm sure you recognize me from the "Battery Boost Thread".
Do you think I could use this device to "Hold Up" my AGM house batteries when the refrigerators surge on when operating on house battery power only?
Thanks

It depends on the design of the booster. Some use a higher voltage battery or even have some electronics to boost the voltage to get some charge into the low battery. While they can deliver a "burst" to help get a vehicle started they do not have a lot of total A/H capacity.
Part of your problem may also be the choice of refrigerator. Many of those small refrigerators are actually power hogs sometimes using as much or more than some efficient full-size fridges. As a thought, as nice as that little fridge is, the proper way to chill beer and soda is an ice chest.

I have the same one or the next step up and they are quite handy, i use them to boost everyone else but me. Their is no way they will boost 40 times on one charge.

Noco gb150
I have a NOCO GB150 and it works really well. It's rated for up to 7 Liter diesels. I used it to start my 6.7 Cummins when the batteries died.
It's also rated for 9 liter gas engines.
Regards, Jerry

NOCO GB150 worked fine for my 2016 6.7 the 2x it was needed.
Very convenient having a small jump pack when needed.
