I have to replace the fuel filter on my Onan 8000W QD model HDKAK and before I start I want to make sure that I have the correct size flare nut wrench(s). I don't know if it's a metric or SAE type or what size it is.

Can anyone tell me what size I need?

Thanks. Al

Thanks for the reply. I found that a friend of mine had a complete set of wrenches for flare tubing fittings so I jumped right in and did the job. The input to the filter from the fuel pump is 1/2" and the output from the filter to the engine is 5/8".

An interesting side note is that NAPA carries a replacement filter. It is exactly the same as the Onan that I removed. It is made by the same company and has the exact same numbers stamped into the filter cover as the Onan part that I removed. The only difference was the addition was a NAPA part number rubber stamped onto the case About $5.00 less expensive than the Onan part.

Regards, Al

Napa is where I got mine. What screws you is no one can get the Air Filter, only from Onan.... I had my local Napa trying to find it for me and no luck.....
