Coleman Mach 8 replacement

Has anyone replaced a Mach 8 heat pump with a mach 10 heat pump. The Mach 10 model number 45024-0792 says it is top down mountable.

Do you need to use an adapter to install it top down?

Any other suggestions for a replacement on a Top Down Mount unit?

Why would you want to do this? Those 2 units are very different.

Mach 8 is not available

The Mach 8 is not available at this time.
This model Mach 10 is a recommended replacement for the Mach 8.
The Mach 10 is 4 inches taller, which does not affect me.

Coleman has stated I will not need the adapter for the top down mount.
I wont be able to install this for about three weeks. I will post an update after it is installed.

Nice and Cool

The Mach 10 fit perfectly! Coleman said the mounting holes may not match exactly but they did. We left a control box, that mounts into the Styrofoam in the roof, out of the hole. We were able to work it into the hole without having to take the entire AC off the roof. Heat pump works great, AC is nice and cool. It took us about 3 hours to complete the job and we had no idea what we were doing. I think we could cut that time in half if we ever do another one.
