Correct filter for Onan 8HDKAK-1046L

Wanting to service my generator before we take off for our Spring trip, I checked the Onan Manual for the filter number. None was listed. I looked in the RV Manual and it showed the filter as a 184-5409. Looking at reference pictures I took of the generator, the removable panel where the coolant fill is states to use the 122-0833. Going to the Cummins/Onan Store and looking up the generator, it says to use the 122-0836. Now I am confused.
The 122-0836 is taller than the 122-0833 and I am not sure it will fit. I searched iRV2 and there are several references to the 122-0833 having been the standard for the HDKAK for years. I haven't climbed under the RV yet, but I think I will probably find the 122-0833. What do I trust, the plate on the generator or the Onan store reference, and is there any advantage to using the taller filter if it will fit?

I suggest you use a new filter with the same part number as the one you're replacing.
(Metinks you are overthinking a non-problem).
