Does anyone have experiences with the 6V golfcart batteries that costco carries. I was advised that they are made by interstate (or parent company) but I wonder how well they hold up. The price difference is significant. Costco is $88.00 and interstate is $125-$150 (retail is much more but the RV dealer I bought the 40' Holiday rambler from will sell them to me at the lower price - it was part of the deal).

I found some old postings (2009) about the good and bad about costco 6V but it may be worth the time to try it out.

I have CostCo 6volt batteries for the house and an oversized CostCo 12VDC battery for the chassis. They work well and you can't beat the warrantee. Not Pro-Rated, but full replacement if returned within the covered period.

I have similar batteries that I purchased from Sam's Club while in Fairbanks Alaska last summertime.

Four new 6 VDC Golf Cart batteries for the house and one new 8D chassis battery for the engine.

Great price and excellent warranty. Any problems at all and I can visit anyone of the thousands of locations around the country.

Batteries are batteries, there aren't too many manufacturer's but lot's of different labels.

I have received 6 - 6 volt batteries but how do you hook then up to get only 12 volts for an extra battery bank in the toter ?

4 Sams club 6 volt Golf cart batteries lasted me 8.5 years before one went bad. 3 are still good but replaced them as a unit. I replaced them with Costco 6 volt Golf cart batteries and am happy.
Not sure who manufacturer is but they are made in Mexico.

To make 6 volt battery hook ups for 12 volts easy, think of any battery as a series of cells wired in series. 3 two volt cells give you 6 volts and 6 two volt cells give you 12 volts. Wire two six volt battery positive to negative. this gives you 12 volts and you will have one positive (on one battery)and one negative (on other battery) with no jumper on them. jumper a second set just like the above and a third etc and each set would be 12 volt total. This is wiring in series.

Now jumper each 2 battery SET positive to positive and negative to negative and you still have 12 volts. This is wiring in parallel. (series parallel circuit).
Double Check with a volt meter before you hook them up.
Be very carful with these loose wires, there is a very large amount of amperage here and you could be injured (killed) or start a fire with a errant wire. Have some qualified help to guide you.
