My 35 gal Thetford SmartTote Portable Waste Holding Tank has a crack in it along a seam. What is a good product to re-seal this...any suggestions?

thanks

First.. Call Thetford and find out the material the tank is made from and be very specific.

Go here and order this kit BUT they sell different types of plastic rod to match the plastic of your tank. They do sell a complete kit with small amounts of most plastic types but it's about $160. Buy the smaller kit for about $60 and the plastic you need for about $20 and save some money.

Unless you just want to buy a plastic welding machine, virtually all auto body shops have one. Be kind- wash it out throughly and disinfect with bleach before-hand. They will know what material it is from the re-cycling code molded into plastic.

Thanks for the response, however none of those are the answer I want so I'll keep trying. $80 dollars to fix a $100 dollar device is high, and that doesn't factor my time which is worth even more. I just want some super clue type product that you smear over the crack and presto no more leak.

Try Mighty Putty. Go here to learn about it.

I've used and recommended the product several times. I've never had it fail.

Consider some eternabond tape. Their websit shows holding tank repair as one use. http://www.eternabond.com/install/tank.htm They even recommend it for pool repairs.
