crusty fridge drains

For those of you with crusty drain lines in your Dometic fridge you can replace them without sliding the fridge forward. Everything i read or watched everyone was saying connect to the old brittle line or move the fridge forward to gain access. I was easily able to change it to a new 1/2" clear hose just by removing a heat shield. It was a tight fit with my big hands and took a few min but i was able to slide the new hose on and put a new zip tie on it to hold it in place not that its going anywhere. Don't know why they would use a crappy plastic line that with eventually get brittle and break into 1000 pc's..

Your lucky to be able to access and remove/install drip line

Why the cheap plastic corrugated drip hose............cause it is CHEAP especially when doing 1000's of fridges

I replaced mine without moving the fridge as well, but used some Fisher/Paykel drain line I had on hand. It's the same size as the original white corrugated line that disintegrated, but better plastic IMO. Older guys... wear protective sleeves when doing this, or your arms will look like you wrestled a bear

No chance of replacing mine with the fridge in place .
