Damon Daybreak- Hydraulic Jack not retracting

I am seeking help/suggestions on why on of my hydraulic jacks will not retract. It goes down fine and supports the weight with no issue but will not retract. Fluid checks good. I can use a pry bar and get it to retract with quite a bit of pressure.

it is a 2004 Damon Daybreak with Power Gear Electronic Leveling System.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Wish I could help but our coach has air leveling only, not hydraulic jacks.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome to the forums.

Is this all of them or just one of the jacks?

When the jacks are extended, wipe the shafts with a rag that has a little transmission fluid (or oil,) on it. This will clean the shafts and also lube them.. You don't want a lot of trans fluid on the shafts as this collects dirt. BUT, you don't want them dry as this is hard on the internal o-rings and seals, and causes them to bind when you are retracting.

You can also try some silicon spray, spray the shafts and then wipe the shaft with a paper towel to clean off any dirt and crap..

It could be a solenoid.

Not sure about this.. If it was a bad solenoid, he probably wouldn't be able to pry them up..

One way to check this would be to get a few rags, and crack the hose lose. If fluid comes out and the jack starts retracting, then its something to do with valves.

I just put a small squirt of wd 40 on mine yesterday because of the same problem and they flew up. Wipe off excess.
