Directv and 2 tvs

Greetings. We recently purchased a 2004 Fleetwood Excursion 39S. It had a roof mounted satellite dish, which was removed prior to our purchase. I have a single cable input in the wet bay for park cable. I have a portable satellite dish outside that I plug into the cable port. The coach has a BOMB with various inputs/outputs. Can I use the SAT input to feed the dish signal to both tvs at the same time and have both work at the same time. I don't have HD service, just SD and a basic 18" dish. As of now, I can only watch one tv at a time as they compete for control of the dish. The BOMB is buried in the back of the electronics cabinet and I am hoping to get some feedback before I disconnect everything and try it. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm going to assume you're trying to feed 2 TV's from one DTV recvr (you didn't say). The simple way to do it is with a splitter on the down stream side of the recvr. The multi in/out switch is usually upstream of the recvr, so relying on it without some rewiring, wont work. The DTV recvr "out to TV" goes to the splitter, then 2 cables out of the splitter, one to front, one to rear. works for me in 3 different RV;s. Of course with only one recvr, you're limited to watching the same chan on both TV's (I don't use DVR so can't say about recording a diff chan); and to change chan you must point the DTV remote at the DTV box where ever its located or use an IR extender addon from bedroom to front.
If you want to watch & record different chans at the same time, you need 2 DTV Recvrs, or one of their new high tech installations, which I have no experience with. I like to keep it simple, one Sat, one cable, one recvr, and no extra complications. (I'm solo and only need to watch one chan at a time on both TV's)

Hi Jim2. Actually I have 2 DTV receivers and 2 tvs. I may just clear out the cabinet and start playing around with it. Thanks!

You need to put a dual LNB (about $20) on the antenna and then you can feed the satellite signal to both your receivers with two cables.
