Dometic AC Fan Won't Turn Off

Hi all,

So my bedroom Dometic air conditioner fan won't turn off. I'm pretty sure that it is the very cheap Dometic thermostat that is at fault. I have done some research and watched several videos and read several websites including this one here:.

https://www.mortonsonthemove.com/dom...203%20seconds.

I have turned off the thermostat and the fan still runs. I have reset the thermostat and it still won't allow me to shut the fan off. The compressor comes on and off depending upon the temperature that I've set. But the fan just won't turn off it goes constantly.. Naturally we're leaving on Wednesday. I figure I can get a new thermostat or maybe a mobile RV repair person to fix the darn thing while on the road.

Do any of you know whether this is a major problem; can we just limp along this summer?

Thank you!

Jon

Open the A/C Circuit Breaker when not using it...that why fan will not run constantly until you replace thermostat or find/fix fan issue

Yeah, I turn the bedroom AC breaker off in order to turn the fan off. The breaker box then started to make a clicking sound, 5 minutes after I flip the breaker off the fan turned on again! I thought that was odd, apparently the bedroom AC is getting some power from some other source other than the breaker. At least enough juice to run the fan. And what was the clicking sound of the breaker box was making?

I am dazed and confused, and going to bed. My wife says don't worry about it we'll get it fixed somewhere on the road we at least have the front AC to keep the RV mostly cool at night.

Thank you!

You can just let the fan run or as mentioned shut off the AC circuit breaker for a quieter experience. Either way won't make things worse. Good luck with a fix.

Each A/C Unit should be fed by it's OWN Circuit Breaker
With the circuit breaker OFF there should be NO AC Power to that A/C Unit

You have an electrical issue that needs to be ID and Fix before it becomes a REAL Problem

Open Both A/C Units Circuit Breakers and see of Bedroom Fan stops running and doesn't restart again.
