Dometic 1350

If they were not so expensive I would throw Dometic refrigerators in the trash. This is my third RV and all Dometics. Design flaws is unacceptable for the 5200.00 price for a 1350. The two inside light switches that turn on the lights when the door opens catches and tears the door seal because its long and pointed. I called and they said no door seal is available have to purchase entire door at $625.00 per door. Put glue on torn seal and removed both switches, ground down the tip to a nice round curve that only hits the metal door itself not the seal. You would have thought the engineers could have thought of this.

I've been waiting 4 months for a control board. Under warranty but will probably expire before I get the part. Lucky it's still working but who knows for how long. Burned spot on board caused by bad heating elements. At least I got the heating elements replaced.

JC Refrigeration

Just for FYI if you get tired of long cool down times and rusting out parts look up JC Refrigeration at 6495 W 200 N, Shipshewana, IN 46565

Opens 8AM
Phone: (260) 768-4067.
My last refrigerator I took the chance and spent $1000,00 on a complete new replacement compressor and cooling unit from them. Excellent, Excellent product. Cools down in 1 1/2 hours and stays cool as you want. What ever you want they have. 12 volt systems, 120 volt, or absorption.

Thanks for the info. Will have to check them out. We full time and need a reliable refrigerator. This over priced RM1350 isn't doing the job. Good thing we have a chest refer and chest freezer in the basement for backup, they are not Dometic.

There is a cooling fan in the middle of the fridge in the back that burns out but you have to pull the fridge out to replace it. I went on eBay and found a fan kit with two fans and a thermostat and mounted them on the top vent door on the outside of the coach. I ended up putting three on mine and works great.

If the factory fan burns out, does that affect the freezer temp more than the fridge temp?..
