Hi heybc,
First thought is the thermistor is okay. However, there is more to the test than a single reading. Disconnect the thermistor leads from the circuit board. At room temp the thermistor should have about 3K ohms across the leads. Place the thermistor in a glass of ice water for about 5 minutes. The thermistor should have a reading of about 9K ohms across the leads. If either of these readings is high, suspect the thermistor. There are fuses on the circuit board and in wires to and from the board. A defective thermistor can cause over cooling.
