Dometic Masterflush 7640
I'm a new guy to the site, but not RV'ing Would appreciate chatting with anyone who has experience with Dometic's macerator toilet model 7640..
I want to upgrade from a Dometic 300. The fact the 7640 is a ceramic bowl in a plastic structure gives me pause. I understand the $$ saving reason --- but does the plastic move and squeak, or is it sturdy?.. Also how loud is the macerator?
I can't find any reviews of the 7640 -- only spec's
Thanks for any comments

Thanks for the good words.... In reading other places, It seems some are not happy with a macerator and think the Dometic 320 (gravity drop) with spray is the way to go...

I am a professional marine/rv sanitation technician trained in many of the manufacturers toilet systems. I have installed the 7640 and other Masterflush toilets on both yachts and rv's. I have very rarely ever had ti service one. The only plastic part of the 7640 is the back cover the bowl and base are one piece ceramic. Most of the vacuflush pedal flush products including the 300 series have ceramic bowls and plastic bases, only the electric toilets are full ceramic. The 7640 does have a foot flush but its the exception. The macerator is not noisy at all. It mounts directly to the floor flange. The benefits are a sealed discharge so when you flush it does not open a 3 inch hole directly to the black tank so no odors like a gravity flush model. Because it macerates you rnd up with a slurry in the tank and not wads of tp and fecal matter so it lessens the chance if build up under theblack tank inlet. They retail for around $450, and you will need to get a 12 volt circut to the head. I have a brand new one in white that i was planing on putting in my old rv but we have since upgraded to a newer DP. [Mod Edit]

Master Flush 7640
Wondering if anyone as any updates on the best macertor toilet for a 20 foot travel trailer. Also the best grey water recycler/filter so the toilet will flush with grey water?

I am looking to replace my gravity toilet in our RV with the Dometic 7640 macerator toilet. Anybody have experience with the 7640?

I have only seen 2 of them. One I installed on a boat and one on my rv ( I am a Dometic dealer ) IF you can find one they are good toilets. They are quite tall so if your existing toilet is on a step it will be way too tall. If it's mounted on the floor your good to go. Installation is easy.

I have a Thetford Tecma 38456 macerator toilet in my Newmar DP. It's a quality ceramic toilet and works well but what I don't like is that the amount of water that is wasted when you even use the small flush after urinating. I know the amount of water used can be adjusted but I'd like the ability to open the gate without using any water or extremely little water. We like to conserve our water (we do a lot of boondocking) and so I would like to buy a macerator toilet with a foot pedal so that we have the option not to use the electric flush. The only macerator toilet I know of with a foot pedal is the Dometic MasterFlush 7640. I'm wondering if anyone would recommend me replacing what I have with this one? Thank you in advance, Hudson

Bderanberg, is your toilet for sale? If so, how much? I'd be interested in replacing my Thetford Tecma macerator toilet with one that has a foot pedal to save on the amount of water I use. Thanks! Hudson
