Dometic Penguin II A/C workmanship

Over the last week, I've helped a friend install two of the above A/Cs. Both were 15K Btus with one having a heat pump. The motor mounting bolts were loose on both units. This caused the aluminum fans to rub against the plastic housings. Both fans were bent on their shafts, causing severe wobbling and vibration. We were able to straighten the fans enough to get most of the wobble out. I think even this minor imbalance will shorten the motor life. Buyer beware!

Does dometic not test run their units before leaving the factory? We put a new Atwood on our trailer and there was a full write-up of how many Amps it drew at different settings as well as a checklist that was filled out. I would hope any assembly issues would be found during a test of the unit.

This is why appliances are bought "can you make it cheaper" by the RV purchasing depts. "Sure" they say, we will just lower the quality.
And why most RV's only have a one year warranty.
On our winter trip now, so far only fixed 6 problems. Haven't even got to our destination.
