Dometic Penguin II install

I replaced my old Dometic ducted roof unit with what Dometic called a direct replacement model, The Penguin II. I wired it exactly the same as the old one. I turn on the thermostat it lights up and nothing happens. Then it shuts off. It is a Duo Therm thermostat and I have a separate gas furnace. Any ideas ????

See if the new unit has DIP switches to identify the location of the AC unit. Meaning if you have more than one AC unit, the DIP switch setting on the AC unit needs to match the thermostat zone id(i.e. zone 1 = front AC, 2 = mid, 3 = rear, etc.).

Also, if you have the old 5-button thermostat, and you install a new AC unit you may have to get the conversion circuit board so the new AC can talk to the old thermostat.

I have one ducted unit. The switch is set the same as my old unit. Only switch thats on is furnace. I did the reset by holding zone and mode then turning the switch on and now I get EE on the screen.

If your thermostat is 5 button, then it is incompatible with the new penguin.
