Dometic refrigerator compressor problems

Hello, have a new CRX65 Dometic refrigerator ac/dc power. Stated up OK & ran for awhile but now the compressor light is on and not cooling. It will restart after sitting but then kicks out again. Any help/ideas appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome
I would check the supply voltage first. If that is ok, then check the amp draw.

Doesn’t matter. If it is drawing excessive power, :ie watts either would cause a problem in the unit wiring.

Folks talk so much about amps, but your real concern should be watts.

Yes, the same wattage on 12v draws more amps and requires bigger wire, but watts is watts.

Sorry I'm not following you here. This is a trouble shooting issue. At this point wattage is irrelevant.

It is all interrelated as per Ohms law. P = I x E However amp draw will give an indication of the condition of the compressor. JMT
