Dometic Refrigerator question

I have always heard that most RV equipment and appliances generally have issues from lack of use. So with that in mind, my question is; is it better to turn off the refrigerator in my motorhome while it's stored plugged in, or is it better to let it run?

Can you please share your thoughts, and the reasoning behind your opinion.

How soon between trips?

If a week, maybe leave it on. If more, turn it off.

The more often you use anything, the quicker something will mess up. That being said, the less you use it, the more likely a bug is to build a nest in/around the burner for the LP side.

I always leave ours running on electric. I only turn it off when I need to defrost it about 2 times in the summer but stays on all winter long. Of course, here in NE Florida, we are in it year around. I've been doing it that way since 2005 without issues.

I've owned a Motorhome almost 40 years and always turn mine off when not in use. I've had very little refrigerator trouble on all my different coaches over the years. To me.......leaving it on thinking it will have less trouble is wishful thinking.
