I'm having trouble with my fridge. It works intermittently. If I unplug the thermistor temp will get to 27 degrees overnight. So I know that the cooling unit is working. This happens on gas or electric. I have the dinosaur thermistor adjuster also.. I checked the ohms on the thermistor yesterday and it showed 8.87... is this correct? Also it has the original circuit board. . Thanks, Chris

It does sound like the thermistor may be defective. I had one of the adjustable ones in my Itasca with a Norcold fridge and it failed. I wound up replacing it with a new standard thermistor and everything went back to working normally. As for resistance, that should vary with temperature as they work kind of like a thermostat for the fridge.

Lt Dan, if I use a regular thermistor doesn't the fridge have to be pulled out? I was thinking on replacing it with the snip the tip thermistors.

I wouldn't think you would have to pull the fridge out to change the thermistor. The snip the tip one is what I had cause problems and had to switch back to the standard thermistor. I thought that's what you had when you said adjustable.

If you don't already have it, you might check here for a service manual for your model. It should give you some ideas about how to test the thermistor.

Thanks lt Dan. I talked to dinosaur yesterday and they think the thermistor is bad... and the rv tech I talked to think it's the board. I ordered them both. Then I'll clean up everything, hopefully this will help. . Chris
