Dometic Thermocouple

I have a 2003 RV with a Dometic refer. I need to replace my burner pipe and wanted to know if I should replace my thermocouple at the same time? What should the life expectancy of a RV thermocouple be? I dry camp at the beach about 100 days a year so the beach air is hard on metal parts.

If it will make you feel better you can change it. In reality a good igniter/flame sensor and a thermal couple will last for many years. I sold a 23 year old coach with the original thermal couple in it and the refrigerator was still working.

Ditto what Mike said. Thermocouples are generic and cheap, you just buy the length required. Insure the tip is near middle-to at top of the pilot flame. Don't touch the contact on the gas valve end, contamination shortens its life.. This connection transmits only a few milli-volts.
FWIW, I have bought new thermocouples that were bad, and- have, like Mike, had a some that never seem to wear out.
