dryer leaves clothes smelly

the DW here...
I have a Splendide 2000 washer/dryer combo. It does an excellent job of washing, but if I over dry the clothes it leaves an undesirable smell. Since it doesn't have a sensor, I have to set it by time and often have smelly or wet clothes. Does anyone else have this problem and if so, have you found a solution.
thanks!
Dara

Is your combo unit a vented or , non- vented unit ?
Have you checked the plumbing P trap ? The reason I ask is ; friends had a combo unit installed in their " pre plumbed MH " only to have awful smell from the unit , and found out the pre plumbed was missing a P trap and tank odors were getting into the washer/dryer.

I run this stuff through the washer a couple times per year. You can actually see the crud it removes. The Best stuff I have found for both Black and Grey Tanks too.

hi- its a vented unit and I checked and there is a p-trap. if the clothes come out wet or damp they smell like the fabric softener, if they dry too long that is when they get the smell.

Are you leaving the dryer door cracked open like the instructions suggest. It can get smelly if you don't.

Do the clothes smell stale? moldy? like rotten eggs? like sewage? like scorched cloth? Any smell is caused by something. If you can be a bit more specific than "undesirable", someone may be able to pinpoint the cause. Some people find pine or flowers undesirable.

Long shot here, in our s&b home we have had cupboards and woodwork painted a few times with oil based (alkyd) paint. If the dryer runs within a week of the painting the clothes smell horribly, the paint solvents burning I would guess. It's there anything near your dryer that could add a vapor to the intake air that could cause the smell after if passed over the hearing elements?

You have a build up of crud on the washer drum causing the smell. You need to clean it using any type of drum cleaner (Tide has one I know of). I mentioned Happy Campers because we have been using this product for some time and it does the job better than any others we have tried for the holding tanks and Washer. We use it on the Washer at home a couple times per year.

the smell is more of a stale smell. could the dryer be heating the clothes too much? I will give the drum cleaner a try and also try to clean the vent pipe - there is air coming out of the vent.

Are you getting a good flow of air from the outside vent when it is drying? I have the 2000 also and there is no air coming from the outside vent. I have talked with tech support at Splendide and we think the fan motor is out. I have to get that monster out of the hole to check it out!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Have much is a used Splendide combination washer dryer worth, if anything. Since we never use it I want to remove mine and use the space for something more usable. One issue selling or donating it is the fact that it weighs 150 lbs so shipping it would be out of the question. I don't think there is a high demand for these thinks. Also getting it from the middle of the coach and out the door will be a task. I have hear of others say that in some cases it will not fit through the door and they dismantled it in the coach and then took it out in pieces to a dumpster. Any thoughts
