Duracell SLI31SA Group 31 for Chassis/Starting Batteries

Duracell SLI31SA

It appears East Penn (Deka) manufactures these.

I am going to be replacing my 2 Chassis/starting batteries, the last owner put in 2 Costco Group 27 Deep Cycle (around 650cca, not really the right type for starting either) in May of this year 2017 - I'm looking to go to a Group 31 (950cca).

NAPA locally said their Group 31 #7236 with studs is manufactured by Exide which I don't think I want to use though NAPA has the best warranty, they prorate after 18 months to 36 months, it's just not free exchange up to 18 months.

Of course, there is Interstate 31-MHD but the most expensive and the usual 18 month exchange warranty.

Since the Costco are so new (4/2017 date stamp), I'm not giving them up for $25 each Core charge either.

Landed up getting two Duracell group 31 for $94.50 each from Batteries Plus.

What a difference on start.

Sam's Club carries Duracell / East Penn at reasonable prices.
Very good linked comparison in this post if considering house battys. http://www.irv2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365954

I checked, batteries plus was cheaper and has more locations if a warranty issue comes up.

You have to bring back to batteries plus and it looks like you have to bring back to Sam's if you purchase from them.

Batteries Plus is 20 mins away from us. Rec'd 10% off ordering online with store pickup. Core charge was cheaper by far compared to Interstate. Didn't check core charge at Sam's, they are over a hour a way.
