Energy Command 30 Cummins Onan Controller Issue

I have a 2021 Winnebago 36Z with a Cummins Onan QG 5500 Generator gasoline and Energy Command 30 Controller. Since day 1 I've had a problem with the EC30 Screen.

Randomly, the screen, which has 2 lines of text on a green LCD background, bottom line of text vanishes and top line turns into solid black blocks. If you look at it sideways, you can still see the text 'behind' the black blocks on top line, but bottom line still gone. So you can't make any changes to auto on etc as you have no idea what happens when you push buttons. I can still manually start and stop gen when this happens (which turns off Auto On if that's what it was set on). Also, if it happens while Auto On is set, it will continue to operate automatically.

After fighting my lame RV dealer for 15 months, they did replace the EC30 once or so they told me, the issue continues. I finally figured out that you can reset the screen by turning off all power to the coach for a few minutes then turning back on. Problem is, when dry camping, I can get this error a couple times a day. Should not be this way and I need it fixed.

I can start/stop it manually with no issue when the screen is like this. If it was set to Auto On when the screen changed, it will continue to run on auto.

Has anyone seen this or have any idea? Trying to get local Cummins to return my calls will keep trying. The local mobile guys don't know what's wrong when I call them so none have come out to look at it. Trying to post a photo of the screen when it's doing this, hopefully it works.

Thanks!!

When it 'went away' do you know if you had shut off the coach batteries? Took me a while to figure out that's how to reset the screen when it does this. I found out the dealer shuts off the batteries to coach and engine every time you take it in to them so they don't die while it sits on the lots for weeks waiting to get serviced. I store my coach plugged in to power in the rv garage so don't usually shut off the batteries myself.

Took the rig to Cummins Avondale AZ (actual cummins shop not an rv shop). The rv dealer that swapped the first EC30 did not program it, or not correctly. Was set up for a diesel gen not gas, was reading the transfer switch wrong so it would cycle off when it auto started for AC, and some other parameters were wrong. So it's working, and as one can expect, I ran the gen for about 5 hours total the night and morning before taking it in but could not get the black blocks to show up. Hopefully correcting the programming will keep that from happening but we won't know until next dry camping trip.Fun fun!! At least the AC auto start is working properly now.
