Exhaust Scrubbers

Anyone had a chance to eval one of these yet?
Foley Exhaust Purifiers

They claim a 80% reduction in Diesel CO from generators of our size. Called them and they are about $379.00 with all the mounting hardware - mounts anywhere in the exhaust, although closer to the manifold the better.

Diesel generator manufacturers will become a part of the greater Federal emission control strategy soon where they are going to have to comply with some form of emission standard like the current 2010 for over the road diesels. Onan may develop some type of SCR strategy for their generator line I expect and we should see something along those lines really soon.

A bolt on device would be great to clean things up in the interim. The closer to the engine the better has everything to do with getting the gasses as hot as possible before they enter the reactor.

Yea I talked to that guy.. these things are scrubbers, not particulate filters so it needs to be close -I'm going to investigate it some more to make sure I have or can make the room up front for it.

It seems to be a catalytic converter. If so, you need to be careful for heat.
