Since it was installed by a dealer, our new Fantastic Fan will not open on the first try. The cover opens very slowly with the motor, then stops before the fan blade turns. Then I have to use the remote to close the cover. I turn on the fan again and it opens at normal speed until the fan turns on, also at normal speed.
Is there an adjustment for this?

No fix to my knowledge. I would take it back to the installer/seller and request it be fixed or replaced.
It has a 2 yr warranty + the lid only has a lifetime warranty.

Try some silicone lubricant on the rubber seal that contacts the vent cover.

I called Domestic, the mother company of FFan. A very nice CSR pointed me to the plunger that moves up with the cover when opening. The on board computer needs the plunger to make contact to engage the fan. If the plunger does not make contact, ie, in my case it was dirty, it will stop the cover from opening further.
I cleaned the plunger with a q-tip and viola! It works as advertised. Thanks for the replies.
