Fantastic Fan Thermostat Knob Issue

One of the Fantastic Fans in our coach is not doing so fantastic right now. The hood opens, but the most of the time the fan motor does not start no matter where I position the thermostat potentiometer knob. I have now found that if I apply sideways pressure to the knob in a certain direction, the fan starts up fine and usually stays running.

I'm assuming that the first step would be to R&R the potentiometer, but after looking for one on the internet, it appears that it is no longer available. the part number is/was K9006-05. Even PDXrvwholesale shows it as obsolete. Has anyone found a suitable replacement or workaround for this? TIA
