Freedom 458 Inverter/Charger question

What am I doing wrong? 2000 Mountain Aire DP plugged in to AC with AC appliance being used. Unplug shore power and appliance runs on inverter. If I turn the inverter off with the Xantrex Freedom Basic Remote panel I cannot turn it on again with the remote panel. Tried pushing the Invert buttom momentarily and holding the button for three seconds. It will not turn back on until I plug shore power back in.

TIA
Mike

Look at the 458 front panel. What status lights are on? Are any blinking?
Will it turn back on from the front panel on the 458?
Try reseating the communication cable on the remote and the inverter.

Try reseating the communication cable on the remote and the inverter.
DC Volts 13.5
DC Amps 10-25 when plugged in
Power Share 30
Charge Solid green
Invert Solid green (Never has blinked)

If I pull the shore power the inverter will stay on and supply AC
If I turn the inverter off I cannot turn it back on at the remote or the inverter.
If I plug the shore power back in then the inverter will come back on.
Tried pulling the com cable. Nothing comes on until I plug shore power back on.

Thanks
Mike

Update:
I had some time today so I was experementing with the inverter. I unplugged the cable to the remote and the switch on the inverter worked every time. Plugged the remote back in and the switch on the inverter would not turn it on. Called Xantrex and they say the remote is bad so I ordered a new remote. I'll let you know if that fixes it.

Hope that takes care of the problem. A little poking, trying this and that never hurts.

I currently have my Freedom 458 Inverter removed because it was operating erratically and finally the front panel controls would not respond when pushed in. On occasion a good rap with my fist would temporarily cure the problem and then it would act up again. I'm going to try removing the PC boards and clean all internal plugs and contacts. Like you suggested, a little poking around may be just the ticket to cure the problem.

Update. Received a new remote panel and that did not solve the problem. Xantrex says it must be a bad component on a board. Rather than spend money on a 12 year old inverter/charger I ordered a new one.

New inverter solved the problem.
