Fresh water holding tank
I recently purchased a 98 Terry travel trailer. The fresh water holding tank leaks. I believe that I can replace it but not sure where to start. I am hoping that someone has tackled this before and would be so kind to share information on this.
This is my first post and I am proud to be a part of RV2.
Happy TGIF!
Mark

Welcome aboard,Mark. Glad to have you join us.
I don't have any first hand knowledge of a 98 Terry, so can't help you there. Does it have a covered underbelly or can you see the tank form underneath? Is anything in the way of removing it? RV manufacturers don't design these things for maintenance - they build them the easiest way and that usually means the tanks are buried with the rest of the RV built around them.

Mark, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to helping you where we can. If you are sure the tank needs replacing then you have already dropped the belly material for inspection. If not you will need to do as Gary has stated and look at the tank under the coach. Hopefully you will find that it is not as bad as you think but if it is let us know. You will need to disconnect the fill hose and the hose feeding the pump from above before dropping the old tank and connecting them to a new tank before putting it back into place.

Gary and RV Wizard! Thank you so much for your help and information. I am going to take the black underlayment down this afternoon and see how it will go back. After I take the underlayment down I will let you know what I find. It leaked in the small holes of the underlayment but it could be just one leak. Wonder where I may find a new tank if that is the problem? Oh well, again thank you so much for your help! Have a very nice weekend! Paul

If it has a hole or crack, you may well be able to patch it with an epoxy pluming repair kit. Tanks are available in many sizes and shapes, but whether the particular one you have is still available is anybody's guess. Fleetwood doesn't make them - they buy from tank manufacturers.

If you have a crack or small hole in the tank, a auto body shop can use a plastic welder to repair the tank. Another option is: http://eastwood.resultspage.com/sear...&p=Q&ts=custom If you require a new tank, try this website: http://www.watertanks.com/category/16/

Mine only leaks when it is very full but stops when the level drops (100 gal) tank.
