Fridge won't get cold

The fridge in our 2006 Tuscany won't get cold, (on electric) the freezer works great. Turned it over to propane and it keeps going out....we had fuses replaced last year

How long has it been on-- absorption refrigerators take a lot longer to cool down than residential refrigerators.

And the "cooling" goes to the freezer first, then the refrigerator, so it is normal for the freezer to cool down first.

As far as "keeps going out on propane", when was the last time you did a burner area tuneup? Takes no parts and no special tools.

What Wolfe10 said.

Give it at least 24 hrs. on electric and report back. Gas is a separate issue which can be addressed once you determine the refrigerator is, in fact, cooling.

Just do a search for: "your refrigerator brand and burner area tuneup"

So Norcold burner area tuneup or Dometic burner area tuneup.

You could also include your refrigerator model number in the search.

Good advice above.

Since freezer has priority, refer part will not cool until freeze reaches set point.

High outside temperature may keep freezer from reaching set point.

Blockage in the outside "chimney" can reduce air flow across radiator parts causing decreased cooling capacity.

Temperature sensors may be displaced.

Cooling unit may be defective or leaking.

Hopefully Old-Biscuit will be along shortly to give expert advice.

If it has been on that long and the refrigerator portion is not cold, you may have a major issue, most likely blocked cooling tubes. If the refrigerator door was not sealing well, the fins inside would still be cold/cool and frost starting to form on them. If that is not happening at the fins, the cooling process is not happening in the refrigerator side of the coils. Blockage of cooling coils is fatal to the refrigerator.

Some have reported success in restoring the cooling by driving around and vibrating/shaking the refrigerator. That will sometimes break up some blockage, enough so that coolant will flow. The blockages are created by overheating which can cause the rust inhibitor inside the coils to crystalize. The process is irreversible.

Explore all suggested options first, such as air circulation around the rear of the refrigerator. However, IMO, three days running and no sign of cooling in the refrigerator coils is pointing to a major failure.

Norcold 1200 uses 2 heater elements
BOTH have to work for proper cooling

Gas...not staying lit
Spark electrode dirty (soot/Carbon) need to clean it using emery cloth
And clean burner assembly

Any Error Codes being displayed?

Freezer has to get cold 1st before food compartment can begin cooling down

2 days and still only freezer cold
*Not enough heat being generated/transfered cause only One Element is working (freezer is taking all the absorption...none left for food compartment)
*Ventilation issue..external fans not running, upper vent obstructed etc
*Thermistor faulty.....unplug and let fridge continue to run provided both elements are working
*Circuit Board faulty (would have to 'Force Cool' to eliminate circuit board)

Voltmeter....verify both elements are getting AC Power
Unplug thermistor for MAX Cooling Operation
Force cool by unplugging element lead from circuit board---plug directly into 120VAC Outlet...run for 12hrs (bypass ALL controls)
Fridge gets cold....bad board
Fridge doesn't get cold.......bad cooling unit

**Off level??
That will stop natural gravity flow and affect fridge cooling process
Also causes damage.
