Furnace woes - Atwood 8525 IV

Hey all. I just bought a 2004 Dutchmen 27BG. It has an Atwood 8525 IV and with the access door off, the furnace fires off and stays running. When I simply place the access door over the furnace area within 5-10 seconds it goes out and cycles 3 times and faults out with 3 flashes for ignition lockout. I looked for wasp nests and found 2, so I removed them. Do you think I need to go further into the burner area to see what gives? It's like air flow is an issue with the access cover in place.

With cover off, is there a silver tube on the RH side of the furnace, about 10-12" long?

Yes. It seems to be intact.

Next thing I would do is pull out the burner asy. and clean out the entire chamber, orifice, and all of that.

I would check the ignition wire. It is the red wire that goes from the left side, ( the DSI board) to the right side, ( the ignitor.) Make sure the cover is not pinching it and shorting it to ground. It does not hurt to clean the outside of the wire of dust and anything that might be on it. This is similar to a spark plug wire, but it also serves to sense the flame.
