Furnace won't light

We have an electric ignition propane furnace. It worked fine in the Spring. Now it will not light. The fan comes on for 10 or 15 seconds and then shuts off. Because we recently filled both propane tanks, our neighbor at the campground thinks that we may have an air bubble. The oven and stove both light. How would we know if that is the case, and how we we clear the air bubble if that is in fact the problem?

Thanks,
Sherry

If the supply is fully turned on and your stove top is working I think the bubble theory may not the the cause. The furnace has a couple of fail safe features that will prevent it from igniting if the propane pressure is low or if the 12 volt supply is low. The fan may come on but if the batteries are low the air flow may not be sufficient to move the Sail Switch enough to OK the ignition process. In the same area dirt or insect activity can influence the sail switch movement.

I would agree it's not a gas problem. I would first take a look in the exhaust port for wasp nets, ect. Better yet, remove the face plate and inspect the exhaust as well as the burner and ignitor for any insect nests. As already stated, your batteries must be up to at least 12.1v for guaranteed ignition.

Remove the face plate covering your igniter. It may be an insect nest/web or may be a scale deposit from your flu that has fallen on the igniter. Take a compressor with an air attachment and blow out all your tubes and ignition chamber.

What if MH is plugged into shore power. Would the health of the house batteries matter?

If the converter/charger is working properly, no.
